Thales Preferred supplier

We are delighted to announce that we have been appointed as the preferred translation supplier for Thales UK. Publishing

Company founder and director, Robin Bennett, is due to have a book launched in the summer. Called ‘Working Smart’ and published by Harriman House, the book is a light-hearted look at starting a company for very little money and how to make that company a long-term concern without ressorting to debt.

London University

Aktuel MD, Robin Bennett and Client Services Director, Mark Keohane spent an enlivening evening talking to Modern Languages undergraduates at London University (Royal Holloway Campus). The purpose of the evening was to outline career prospects for students within the translation industry.

Aktuel announces the appointment of top-flight Client Services Director

Mark Keohane has joined Aktuel this month in the role of Client Services Director. Mark will be working closely with MD Robin Bennett on the continued growth of the business and the development and delivery of a translation consulting service.

Mark comes from an IT background and after an initial spell with Thorn EMI he moved into management consulting with one of the leading firms, where he was to spend the next 10 years, six of those in Australia. His experience includes everything from consulting to a computer factory in a Finnish forest in midwinter, to advising one of the world’s largest civil engineering projects based in Lesotho, to reviewing the administration functions of Indonesia’s national electricity company. Since then he’s worked in the City of London in the investment management industry, as well as starting and running his own business.

His extensive experience of different industries and business environments will be an extremely useful addition to Aktuel’s capabilities.
