Robin Bennett

Robin Bennett - Founder and Trustee Director

Robin founded The Aktuel Translation Group (incorporating PTI) in London in 1992, after graduating from London University (Royal Holloway) with a degree in Modern Languages.

Robin now writes books and lectures on Entrepreneurship.

Married with 3 children, he will play just about any sport (poorly) when time allows.

Charlie Homewood - Managing Director

Charlie finished his degree in French and German at the University of Durham in 2012.

Having initially worked at Aktuel as an in-house translator and project manager, he took on a more operational role in 2014 and has been our Managing Director since November 2022.

Charlie’s interests include cricket, squash, tennis, chess and theatre.

Francesca Scaccabarozzi - Project Director

Francesca is from Italy and graduated from the University of Bergamo in 2016 with a Master’s Degree in foreign languages and literatures (focusing on English and French).

After working in translation for a couple of years in Italy, she came to the UK in May 2018.

She enjoys swimming and climbing.

Carys Robins - Senior Project Manager and In-house Translator

Carys graduated from the University of Bath in 2020 having studied French and Italian.

She joined us in January 2021 for an internship and has since become a translator and project manager. She also manages our Twitter account.

When not in the office, Carys is usually doing something sporty.

Poppy Robertson - Project Manager and In-house Translator

Poppy graduated from the University of Oxford in 2022 with a master’s degree in German.

At university, she particularly enjoyed working with and translating medieval literature and manuscripts. She joined Aktuel as an in-house translator in 2022.

When not in the office, Poppy is usually singing – often to the annoyance of her housemates.

Kim Siong Lai - Project Manager and In-house Translator

Kim Siong is from Mauritius and graduated from Goldsmiths university in 2022 with a master’s degree in translation.

After working in the translation industry for about a year, he joined Aktuel as a translator and project manager in 2023.

He enjoys cooking and playing video games.

Minnie Fawcett - Project Manager and In-house Translator

Minnie is a recent graduate from the University of Leeds with a BA in German and Arabic.

Her interest in translation came from exploring how dialects can be translated. In 2023 she joined Aktuel as an in-house translator and project manager.

In her free time Minnie enjoys dancing, running and reading books.
